Weekend: November Second Week
So one of my colleagues landed in Chennai yesterday from the UK and apart from asking for Tea, he asked me what places he should checkout in Chennai.
I did not even have to think. I immediately said Besant Nagar!
I mean there are so many amazing places in Chennai. However, when he asked me what the best places to see in Chennai were, I didn't even have to think twice!
Why Bessy though!?
What makes Besant Nagar Special!?
Besant Nagar is an Atti!
Grab a beer, get a tattoo, go on a date!
From the international Kentucky Fried Chickens and the Italian cuisines at Mash to the authentic Thalapakatti Briyani and the local Vada Pav overseeing the beach.
The question my friend is, what can you not do in Besant Nagar!
Do the Zumba!
Besant Nagar is always bustling with a lot of emphasis on fitness!
Kaalaila aaru manikku apdiye oru jogging ah pottu, oru arugampul juice kudicha nanna irukkum! đđź
Hungover? Detox? Fitness Freak?
If you haven't heard of Arugampul juice, you've missed out on the good side of life! đ
This deadly, I mean delightful juice will kill any pesky germs and keep your intestines kicking! đŞđź
Every morning folks old and young take brisk strolls, ride a bike or jog to their heart's content in the morning here!
Every weekend, The Hindu organizes something called the Car-Free Sunday as a part of the Namma Chennai Namakke initiative in which they block all motorized vehicles from entering the stretch from Annai Velankanni Church all the way up to Subway on the other end.
They have all sorts of activities themed around the occasion that weekend and they're super fun! They have competitions, fun activities, and group fitness activities like Zumba!
Lol, that reminds me! Yours truly anchored the Pongal weekend where they had competitions like Rangoli and Uriyadi!
Turns out some of my friends were there on the beach they were like,
Dai leave us alone at least here! Your voice is echoing all over the beach! đ
Ah yes, what fun indeed! đ
There's roller skating, people playing frisbee, soccer and some of my friends even organize long-distance cycling rides from our beloved Elliots Beach. Let me know if you'd like to ride along, I'll put you in touch with them! đ
Red Bull Chennai organized their Neymar Junior 5 Regional Qualifiers here as well! You are spoilt for choices with food in Bessy!
Every nook and corner of the Edward Elliot's Beach has a small show that has mouth-watering food!
Heavy wallet, check out places like Mash, Blind Chemistry and Thalapakatti.
Mid Month? Adaminte Thattu Kadai, Cheesy Juicy Burger got you covered.
Month-end ah? This is the best time to go to Bessy!
If your more of the refined, no no ey I don't know Tamil ya crowd, you can always grab a vada pav or a spring potato.
Namba paiyan ah ne? âđź
Head over to the beach and eat some of the most mouth-watering dishes you'll ever taste in your life! đ¤
The hot mozhaga bajjis, fresh fish right off the sea, the prawn pakodas, ohh the prawn pakodas, I'm drooling just thinking about it! đ¤¤
Pop some balloons with a riffle, get a tattoo done, get blessed by God, do a photoshoot with the ghosts, watch turtles go back into the sea, grab a beer or even go on your first date.
Do it all at Namma Besant Nagar Beach! đ
So after a long day of hustling, you know where you can go chill and blow off some steam!
