Weekend: October Third Week
A lot of commotion last weekend eh? OMR isolated, roads blockaded, events decimated. Regular life was definitely affected.
My take on the Modi-Xi summit?
Narendra Modi is a brilliant Marketer!
I'm going to keep this as non-political as possible, I don't want the cops knocking my door, not to mention I live on the OMR.
Oh, that reminds me! One of my friends apparently had to close her windows and not enter her balcony last weekend as her house was in a sniping range! đ€Šđ»ââïž
But can you really blame them for having this much paranoia? They're just doing their jobs and if something were to have happened to Modi, they'd be the ones accountable.
Anyway, last time when Modi tried to come down south during the elections, people detested even the thought of it. #GoBackModi was unanimously trending. There was nothing he could do. However, this time, there were over 120K tweets which said #GoBackModi and there were more than 70K tweets that said #TNWelcomesModi. Is he smart or what? So many people including my Mom were impressed with how Modi played it this time!

My Mum kept arguing with me and just wouldn't listen when I tried to make her understand that he's just trying to play us. She still kept saying,
So what? He didn't have to do all that but he still did!
Haiyo ma, but he has to do all that! đ€Šđ»ââïž
She was very impressed when he was dressed in a dhoti like most other people. He played with the sentiments of the people and also portrayed to set by example, with him following his own principles like Swachh Bharat cleaning the beach. Modi sure did capture a lot of hearts this time! It only goes to show how accommodating and broadminded the people here are!
